MANCHESTER CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2008
Firstly I would like to thank the
Manchester Dog Show Society for their kind hospitality during the day.
Also, to the exhibitors who travelled to the show to allow me to judge their
dogs.
Puppy Dog (4,1)
1st DALE, Mr P N & DALE Miss B E Megellan Rumble In Rattustrap. Lovely colour
and markings on this young dog. He is correct for size and was handled to
perfection by his young handler. He has a nice profile and moved well most of
the time, would have liked a better front movement today. BEST PUPPY IN BREED
2nd HOLMES, Miss B & HOLMES Mr K & Mrs L Egloshayle Black Carlyn. A larger dog
with heavier bone but still very handsome. Very good stifle and good movement.
Good ear carriage.
3rd MCGRATH Mrs K & Mr C Brookstream Bonny Banks. Young dog that would benefit
from a little more weight, one I would like to see again when he has bodied up.
Junior Dog (1,1)
Open Dog (2,0)
1st NORRIS Mr & Mrs N H & Mr W H Ch Brookstream Marcus Banks JW Sh.CM. He is a
quality dog with a good coat and excellent ear carriage. He is a good size and
his presentation today was first class. His handler had to work hard to get the
best out of him and he was unsettled which distracted his movement. However, he
still deserved the award of Best Dog today.
2nd FITCH, Mrs F & REEVE Ms V Westwytch Calico Cadeau. Another dog presented in
excellent condition. His markings were great and his general appearance is of a
compact dog with substance and a pleasing head. His outline was good as was his
movement but today he lost out to (1) as I would have preferred a better front
profile.
Junior Bitch (2,0)
I must let the two of you know that this was the hardest class of the day. It
was very close between both of you.
1st: 1502 BROWN Mrs J Tyburn Lara. A feminine bitch with a pretty head and an
excellent ear carriage. She is compact and held a good topline. My only
criticism would be of her markings. She moved better on her 2nd attempt and I
liked her feminine appearance.
2nd: 1514 NORRIS Mr & Mrs N H & Mr W H Brookstream Brooklyn. A bitch with more
bone than (1), she meets the standard well but today she is carrying a little
more weight than when I have seen her previously. Her head is pleasing with a
lovely dark almond eye and an excellent ear carriage. I would have preferred a
richer tan.
Post Graduate Bitch (6,2)
1st KNIGHT Mr C & Mrs G Talanors Tomorrows Dreams. This lady was in good hard
condition with excellent muscle that must be commented on. She excelled in breed
points and one to watch in the future when perhaps she does not come across my
Best of Breed
2nd HEMSELL Mr T & Mrs D Tetani Spirit Vision. I was pleasantly surprised by
this bitch; she had good underlying qualities and is very feminine and pretty.
She had a good head, neck and on standing has a pleasing outline. She has a well
angled rear end; I would have liked better movement. Overall I thought she was
lovely.
3rd PURVIS Mr E & Mrs J Churnet Chantilly
Res HEMSELL Mr T & Mrs D Tetani Spirit Of The Wind
Open Bitch (3,0)
1st OXLEY, Mr M & OXLEY Miss S R Ch Digelsa Double Entendre JW Sh.CM. This is a
quality bitch that was a treat to go over. She has a good front with a most
pleasing profile, positive in all breed points including well laid shoulder,
perfect crest of neck, and a deep chest with appropriate tuck up. She is
presented in excellent condition. Her ears are well set which promoted her
pretty head to perfection. Best of Breed.
2nd KNIGHT Mr C & Mrs G Ch Talanors Trick N Treat. Another quality bitch of good
size. I am now aware I have judged her before and she has further matured well.
She is in excellent condition.
3rd HEMSELL Mr T & Mrs D Tetani Princess Of Darkness Sh.CM
